The feeling this morning at the Open House for the Fashion Incubator, the CFDA’s rent-subsidized hallway of studios for hand-picked designers, was distinctly giddy–sort of like Open House at the beginning of the school year.

Jennifer Manko, who designs with Bibhu Mohapatra, was turned out in one of her employer’s samples–silky soft grey with a bow that flopped prettily on her collarbone. (Last time I saw her she looked equally adorable, though pony-tailed, in a plaid shirt and jeans.) Alice Ritter, who loves her new studio, but misses her Williamsburg workspace’s proximity to Bakeri, brought brioche for the occasion. And tonight, there will be an after-party at Norwood, put on, incidentally, by the guys from Public School.
